I am LEO CHAN, and I run this website. You can view my work, read the blog, explore technical tools and contact me about a project. This notice explains the information involved when you visit or get in touch.

Visiting the website

The website uses the content management system’s built-in visit statistics. Access records may contain the time of a visit, page path, IP address, browser or device information and response status. These records help me understand page visits, investigate faults and identify unusual requests. When you open images, videos or other media, your browser also sends requests to the services that provide those files.

Contact and messages

When you contact me by email, phone, WeChat or the website’s message form, I receive the name, contact details and project information you choose to provide. The message form also records the submission time, IP address and referring page. Choose the contact method that suits you; you do not need to fill in every contact channel.

I use this information to answer questions, discuss requirements, arrange a conversation and handle any resulting collaboration. Please do not send identity documents, bank details, passwords or client material that you are not authorised to share in a public message or first enquiry. If we need to exchange project files, we can agree on an appropriate method.

Cookies and browser storage

Language selection, verification codes and similar functions may use necessary cookies or browser storage to keep those functions working. You can clear or restrict this data in your browser. You may then need to select a language again or refresh a verification code. The website currently has no advertising trackers, personalised recommendations or third-party marketing analytics tools.

Third-party services and links

Some images, QR codes and media are delivered through Tencent Cloud Object Storage (COS). These services receive the network request information needed to load a file, such as an IP address, browser information and the requested file address, for delivery, operation and security.

The website also links to ONCE, software providers and services such as email and WeChat. Once you open those pages or use the relevant apps, their providers are responsible for their information processing. Please read their privacy notices. I do not sell enquiry information or publish your contact details or project material without the required authorisation, except where disclosure is required by law.

Retention and handling

Access records, messages and correspondence are kept for the time needed for statistics, security investigations, enquiry replies and collaboration. Retention decisions consider whether an issue has been resolved, whether a project is ongoing and whether legal retention or dispute handling is required. When the purpose is complete and further retention is unnecessary, the relevant information is deleted or anonymised. Information that must be retained by law is used only for the corresponding purpose. You can ask me about information concerning you and how long it is kept.

Your choices

You can contact me to access, copy or correct personal information concerning you, request deletion or restrictions on its use, or withdraw consent you previously gave. Tell me which contact channel you used and what the request concerns, providing only the information needed to locate the record. After confirming that the request comes from the person concerned, I will handle it and reply under the applicable requirements. If some information must be retained by law, I will explain why. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawfully completed beforehand.
